We empower parentless parents through guidance and community. Validate the past. Adjust to the present. Redefine your future.
While losing a parent at any age is enormous and profound, having lost both of your parents before becoming a parent or while a parent yourself, leaves you in an odd and oftentimes difficult space.
When you have children of your own, and your parents are not there to help you – that difficult space becomes hard to navigate.
Parents Without Parents – A Support Group, helps parentless parents navigate life’s challenges through a powerful collective that provides support to help those who need a guiding hand, advice or just an ear.
Parents Without Parents is supported by the Child Guidance Center of Southern CT and Dr. Jessica Welt, CEO & Clinical Director.
For over 15 years, Dr. Welt’s career has focused on crisis intervention and the treatment of trauma.
“I lost my identity as someone’s son. I lost the family and friends only connected to me through them. And I lost anything standing in the pecking order between me and my own demise.”
